Chapter 1. General Provisions
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms of Service (hereinafter referred to as the "Terms") are established to define the terms and conditions of use, membership requirements, and other necessary matters regarding the internet-related services (hereinafter referred to as the "Services") jointly provided by the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (hereinafter referred to as the "Organization").
Article 2 (Definitions)
The definitions of terms used in these Terms are as follows:
“Services” refer to all services provided by the Organization that can be accessed regardless of the type of wired or wireless device used.
“Content” refers to any symbols, text, voice, sound, images, videos, and various forms of information, files, or links posted by the Organization on the Service platform.
“User” means any individual, group, or legal entity using the Services.
“Donor” refers to an individual, group, or legal entity that makes regular or one-time contributions to support the Organization's work.
Article 3 (Effectiveness and Amendment of Terms)
The Organization shall post the contents of these Terms on the Service homepage in a way that is easily accessible to Users.
The Organization may amend these Terms within the scope of relevant laws when a reasonable reason arises.
When the Terms are amended, the Organization shall indicate the effective date and reasons for the amendment, and post both the current and revised Terms at least seven (7) days prior to the effective date. If the changes are unfavorable to Users, the Organization shall provide additional clear notifications through electronic means within the Service platform.
By agreeing to these Terms, Users are deemed to agree to regularly check for changes. The Organization shall not be liable for any damages incurred by Users due to unawareness of such amendments.
Users who continue to use the Services after the amended Terms take effect are deemed to have agreed to the changes.
Article 4 (Governing Rules Outside the Terms)
For matters not specified in these Terms, the provisions of individual service terms, the Framework Act on Telecommunications, the Telecommunications Business Act, the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, the Youth Protection Act, and other applicable laws of the Republic of Korea shall apply.
Chapter 2. Conclusion of Service Use Agreement
Article 5 (Formation of Use Agreement)
The use agreement is formed when a User agrees to these Terms and applies for the use of Services (including donation applications), and the Organization approves such use.
Clicking an "Agree" button or checking a confirmation box is considered agreement to these Terms. Use of the Services also constitutes agreement.
Article 6 (Application for Use of Services)
Service use applications are completed when a User registers and is approved by the Organization, or by using the Services directly.
Depending on the type of User, the Organization may request identity verification through an authorized agency.
The Organization may classify Users into different levels and limit access to services by usage time, frequency, or features.
Article 7 (Changes to User Information)
Users may view and edit their personal information through the Organization’s user management tools or by directly contacting the Organization. However, some information essential to service operations may not be editable.
Donors must notify the Organization of any changes to their information (e.g., contact details) through online means, email, or other methods.
The Organization shall not be held responsible for any disadvantages resulting from a User’s failure to notify such changes.
Article 8 (Obligation to Protect Personal Information)
The Organization shall protect personal information of Users, including registration data, in accordance with applicable laws and the Organization’s Privacy Policy. For external links or third-party sites, their respective policies apply. The Organization shall not be held liable for information exposed due to User negligence.
Article 9 (Approval and Rejection of Service Applications)
The Organization generally approves service applications unless there are operational or technical issues.
Approval may be denied in the following cases:
Previous violations of these Terms unless separately approved
Use of false names or third-party identities
Incomplete or false application information
Users under 14 without legal guardian consent
Any other violations of regulations or ineligible circumstances
The Organization may withhold approval due to service capacity or technical difficulties.
Chapter 3. Obligations of the Parties
Article 10 (Obligations of the Organization)
The Organization shall provide stable and continuous Services in accordance with these Terms.
In the event of a system failure, the Organization shall promptly repair or recover the system unless prevented by unavoidable circumstances.
The Organization shall publish and comply with a Privacy Policy.
If a User's complaint is deemed legitimate, the Organization shall promptly address it and, if not immediately possible, inform the User of the reason and expected resolution date.
Article 11 (Obligations of Users)
Users shall not:
Register false information
Use others' information
Modify information posted by the Organization
Transmit or post unauthorized content
Infringe on intellectual property rights
Defame or interfere with the Organization or third parties
Use the Services for commercial purposes without consent
Engage in illegal or improper activities
Users shall comply with applicable laws, these Terms, service guidelines, and notices issued by the Organization.
Chapter 4. Use of Services
Article 12 (Provision of Services)
Services shall, in principle, be available 24/7 unless technical or operational interruptions are required. The Organization may schedule downtime for maintenance and notify Users in advance.
In case of urgent technical issues, the Organization may suspend Services without notice.
In emergencies such as national crises, blackouts, or excessive traffic, the Services may be restricted or suspended.
The Organization may limit access based on time or service categories.
Services are generally free of charge except for donation-related features or when additional paid features are offered under separate agreements.
Article 13 (Copyrights for Content)
Unless otherwise indicated, all content provided by the Organization is protected by copyright laws, and the Organization holds the rights.
Users shall not reproduce, sell, publish, or distribute content acquired through the Services for commercial purposes without prior consent.
Article 14 (Provision of Information)
The Organization may provide information deemed necessary for Service use through screens, emails, or postal mail.
The Organization may request additional information from Users with their consent for service improvement.
Article 15 (Advertising and Transactions)
A portion of the Organization’s service infrastructure may be supported through advertisements. Use of the Services implies consent to advertisement exposure.
The Organization is not responsible for losses resulting from transactions with advertisers.
Article 16 (Restriction of Service Use)
The Organization may restrict Services without prior notice if a User violates these Terms or relevant laws (e.g., identity theft, illegal programs, hacking, or unauthorized access).
Article 17 (Service Deletion and Site Separation)
The Organization may modify or remove Services for quality improvement. If such actions result in significant User impact, prior notice shall be provided.
The Organization may restructure or separate the website and shall inform Users in advance.
Chapter 5. Termination of Donations
Article 18 (Cancellation of Donation)
Donors who wish to cancel recurring donations must notify the Organization via the website, phone, or other means. Personal data may be retained in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable laws for future administrative purposes.
Chapter 6. Dispute Resolution and Miscellaneous
Article 19 (Compensation for Damages)
The Organization shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use of free Services.
In the case of third-party services, liability lies with the third-party provider.
Article 20 (Disclaimer)
The Organization is exempt from responsibility in the following cases:
Force majeure events (e.g., natural disasters)
User-caused service issues
Inaccuracy of user-posted content
Disputes between Users or with third parties
Free services unless specified by law
Service interruptions due to telecommunications providers
Unavoidable maintenance or technical issues
Any other cases as defined by applicable law
Article 21 (Jurisdiction and Governing Law)
Matters not covered in these Terms shall follow applicable laws. Disputes shall be settled under the jurisdiction of the relevant courts as prescribed by law.
Article 22 (Use of Donations)
Donations will be used by the Organization to support environmental initiatives in Korea and globally.
Voluntary donations made through proper channels are non-refundable. However, exceptions may be made in cases of processing errors or if justified by law, upon provision of supporting documentation.
Supplementary Provision
These Terms shall be effective as of April 15, 2025.
